600 Episode T-Shirts

Well Guys, this month, we record our 600th epsisode of our TV programme that will soon be known as RiverviewLIVE. And in good RVTV tradition, its time for a new shirt. So here is a draft design that I'm about 95% happy with. Here is the catch, if you want one, you will need to register your interest by adding a comment to this post, with your name and size, so I know how many to get done up. We will sell them at cost, so they should not be more than $20. I'll confirm the cost asap. So well done team (both past members and present), 600 eps is awesome job, only God knows how many lives have been touched by it. My prayer is that God would receive all the glory for our efforts.

RVC CREATE

greetings. i've been thinking about our design world here at riverview and want to suggest a way to include more people in our church across the world, you know us design freaks. so to get us started lets get some designs going, refer to the submission list below. you may just want to submit a great photo or anything you wish on the subject. please submit a minimum 1024x576.jpg, you can upload it yourself.

the site is http://fotologue.jp/create

to upload images, the login is: 'rvc_create' - password: 'riverview' the file must include the title txt, and also we need a few variations to use behind scriptures/points/worship. if your design is selected as the best it may also be used on the cover of the update, riverview website, churchnews, even tvc world wide, so be thinking 300dpi and multi-dimensions. you can also comment on other people designs. so have a go ya mug, make a submission! Also if you know anyone who would be interested in this, please forward the info to them...

Team 6 update

So on friday night just gone the current team 6 roster had it's last shoot together before the Crew reshuffle..

For me as the leader it's a little sad as im losing a few champions who i love serving with however it's exciting at the same time with a few new people coming in to give the team a bit of a fresh new look. We'll still have our core team essentially, but it'll be different.

So, going out of the line-up is Albert, Nany, Chris and Jim.

And coming into the squad is the lovely Wanda Ashley, Robby Bob, Troy Zumbo and Ben Schneider... So that'll be cool. I can't wait to welcome each of them into my team!

Anyway, good job to Pol and Chip with the reshuffle. Having a scroll through all the new team lists today i think it has become quite balanced.. So good job guys!

Commercial Airing sheet

As promised here's an exact airing schedule for the commercial.

We'll be airing during some primetime shows, so a very high proportion of people will see it, and hopefully it'll spark people into gear to check out church this easter.

It's all happening!

Well from my perspective, things are very good on the crew at riverview lately...

Our OC Campus is up and running and we've started feeding our saturday night message to them each week which basically gives them the same 40 minute message of Phil speaking that we get here in perth. Very exciting to be part of something that gets viewed by people overseas!

We've just got our crane/jib arm up and running on sunday nights and week by week each of the 6 different teams are getting a chance to play with it and so far it's been looking really dynamic and giving a very fresh and interesting look to our shoots which is cool. Although my team won't be on the sunday night service for a few more weeks so i'll have to do my best to wait patiently!! hehe. :)

The other thing coming up is our crew reshuffle which francis and joelle are planning on implementing very soon in the next 2 weeks i believe. Basically they're changing the teams around a little bit to build a more balanced team across the board. So theres a few teams that have many qualified handheld operators and some teams that have very few... and the same thing for each other position like center camera, multimedia, camera 4, directing....... Basically over the last few years so many people have come and gone from the crew that things have just become a little unbalanced in terms of qualifications. So this new re-shuffle of all 6 teams will correct that and make it so all 6 teams have roughly the same skill level and the same amount of qualified people.

Now i guess it could be difficult at first to re-adjust to a new team for some people, however i think it's really exciting that it will give the crew a fresh new look and feel and give us the oppurtunity to meet and become close with some of the many other people on the crew that we might not know that well yet. So yeah, it may be strange at first... but long term it will be really positive for everyone i think! At the end of the day, We are ONE crew and we're unified!

Anyway, i'd like to apologise from the bottom of my heart for the lack of postings on this blog lately... Blogger did an update on how it's users sign in and so it scrapped all the other contributors we had here. So ive just re-invited them all, and i've also invited the media guys at OC to come in and post too.

So hopefully this blog will be firing on all cyclinders for the remainder of this year!!

So keep checking !

Luv you all, pleasure serving with you. God bless.

TV Commericals

This week I had the privillege of editing our 1st in-house TV commercial, promoting 'This month at Riverview." Its very exciting to know it'll be hitting airwaves soon, and the goal is that it has a direct impact on the number of new people attending church.
The main focus is to promote the easter services, and it looks and feels exactly like a churchnews announcement, same vibe and format, so it'll be effective advertising.. hopefully!!

I'll post a small quicktime version of it soon, but it'll look a lot nicer if you can catch it on TV! keep an eye on channel 10, i'll print airing times as soon as i find that info out also.

We also changed our previous commercials and sent them off this week to be aired in the orange county area promoting our new campus over there.

Also on the subject we shot one for Mega Music last year, and they've just asked us to shoot a new one for them, which is great news.. We're still not experts and have plenty of learning to do, but its great for the church and the crew that we're getting opportunities to shoot and edit for television.

RVTV's new CRANE!!

Last year we were very fortunate to receive a crane/jib arm unit for use in our auditorium. Its a brilliant piece of equipment which will significantly improve the look and feel of our video shoots..

We had a training session this week with 18 handheld operators coming in to learn how to use it and take it for a test drive.. the plan is to launch it during a service this sunday night, and run it each sunday PM from here on in till the DVD record.. also using it here and there for tv records on sunday mornings.

i took these pics of us testing it on tuesday to help paint a picture of how it will work.. please enjoy.
